- Enquiries: messages you send to sellers or that buyers send to you, including company and contact details.
- Contact form submissions: name, email, phone, company and messages sent via our contact form.
- Usage data: pages visited, search queries, product views and time spent, collected via cookies and server logs.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and improve the BESMUG marketplace.
- Process and display your product listings.
- Facilitate enquiries between buyers and sellers.
- Respond to support requests and contact form submissions.
- Send transactional emails (listing confirmation, enquiry notifications).

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) and images are hosted on Cloudinary β both of which use industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/HTTPS).
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
4. Cookies
BESMUG uses minimal cookies:
- Session cookie (
besmug_session): Stores your login state for up to 7 days. Cleared when you log out. - Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. GA4 data is anonymised and subject to Google's privacy policy.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features of the site may not function correctly without them.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Google Firebase β authentication, database, and file storage.
- Cloudinary β image hosting and optimisation.
- Google Analytics 4 β website analytics.
- Google Sign-In β optional social login.

BESMUG is a B2B marketplace intended for adults 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated βlast updatedβ date. Continued use of BESMUG after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
